A party insider claimed that opposition People Power Party (PPP) Chairman Lee Jun-seok proposed to People’s Party (PP) presidential candidate Ahn Cheol-soo that he withdraw his candidacy on the condition that the two opposition parties merge to help PPP candidate Yoon Suk-yeol beat ruling Democratic Party (DP) candidate Lee Jae-myung. In the meantime, DP Chairman Song Young-gil is obstructing a merger between the PPP and PP.
