'Squid Game' cast to attend SAG Awards in Los Angeles
The cast of “Squid Game” is heading to the U.S. to attend the upcoming Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.
According to Netflix, actors Lee Jung-jae, Jung Ho-yeon, Park Hae-soo, Kim Joo-ryong and Anupam Tripathi will all attend the awards ceremony.
Director Hwang Dong-hyuk will also attend to support the cast who have been nominated for an award.
Golden Globe winner Oh Young-soo, Wi Ha-jun and Heo Sung-tae are unable to participate due to conflicts in their schedules.
“Squid Game” is the first non-English-language drama series to be nominated for a prize in the 28-year history of the SAG awards. The series, since its release on Sept. 17 last year, saw worldwide success and became Netflix’s most-viewed content.
The series was nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble Series, Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor for Lee Jung-jae, Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor for Jung Ho-yeon and Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble.
The 28th SAG awards ceremony will be held on Feb. 27 at The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Los Angeles.
