Covid-19 continues to strike the K-pop industry.

Boy band Seventeen’s Hoshi and girl group WJSN’s Exy were confirmed to have tested positive on Thursday by their respective agencies. WJSN is also known as Cosmic Girls.

Hoshi’s agency Pledis Entertainment said on the fan community platform Weverse and social media channels that Hoshi tested positive.

He was coughing and had a sore throat since the previous afternoon, and took a self-test kit to which he was positive. He then took a PCR test.

Hoshi currently only has the aforementioned symptoms and is at home undergoing treatment, Pledis said.

Other members of Seventeen tested negative via self-test kits. Wonwoo and Vernon previously had the virus but have since totally recovered.

“Hoshi is unable to partake in upcoming schedules,” Pledis said. “We’ll fully support Hoshi’s treatment so he can meet with fans in a healthier state.”

Exy, whose real name is Chu So-jung, is quarantining as well, her agency Starship Entertainment said.

She tested positive on Wednesday through a PCR test.

“Exy received three jabs of Covid-19 vaccines and has symptoms of just coughing and a minor sore throat,” Starship said.

Other members of WJSN and crew members who worked with the group tested negative in rapid antigen tests. Starship said that it will take the incubation period into consideration and have everyone undergo PCR tests later.
