DJ Soda, an influencer and DJ, says she was kicked off an American Airlines’ flight due to her pants and will boycott the airline in the future.

She uploaded posts on her Twitter and Instagram account that she was “kicked off from American Airlines flight and they harassed me to take off my sponsored ‘F*** YOU’ sweatpants in front of people to board again.”

The incident happened as she was boarding a flight heading to Los Angeles from New York.

“I have worn these pants sponsored by an American brand for months now during my American tour and have boarded planes without any problems,” she said. “I was drinking my welcome drink in the business seat when a male worker came up to me to ask me to leave the plane with my baggage without telling me why. And at the plane entrance he said that my pants were ‘offensive’ and that I should board another plane.”

As she had an important business meeting in L.A., she asked to change into another pair of pants but her request was rejected.

“I had to take off the pants in front of everyone at the plane entrance,” she wrote. “Even though I had taken off the pants and was wearing nothing, they made sarcastic remarks such as asking why I did not think to take off the pants before boarding the plane."

She was able to stay on the plane after turning her pants inside out to wear them.

“In the eight years I toured, it’s the first time that I was kicked off a plane and the first time I had to take my pants off in front of everyone to see. I cannot believe that this happened in America, a country which respects individual’s freedom.”

DJ Soda, who debuted in 2016, signed a distribution contract of her records with Warner Music Group in 2018 and actively tours across Asia.
