Moon Jun-young, a former member of boy band ZE:A, has been given a summary offense after being caught drunk driving in March.

According to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office on Tuesday, Moon was handed a fine of 8 million won ($6,500). Because his acts have been deemed a summary offense, there will be no jury trial or indictment.

Moon was caught drunk driving in March in Gangnam District, southern Seoul.

He had been driving on the wrong side of the road when he got into a dispute with another driver. While arguing, the other driver smelled alcohol on Moon and called the police.

When the police arrived on the scene, Moon’s blood alcohol concentration level was well over 0.08 percent, which qualifies for revocation of a person’s driver's license.

Moon has been caught drunk driving on previous occasions and had his driver’s license revoked in 2018.

Moon debuted as the leader of ZE:A in 2010 then left the group’s agency in 2017. He continued a career in the music industry as an EDM DJ. He also established an entertainment agency called Super Member's Entertainment (previously named EXAentertainment) and became CEO in 2020. He has since stepped down from that role. Moon completed his 18-month mandatory military service in January.
