Girl group aespa is gearing up to promote its upcoming EP "Girls" overseas.

Before the EP's release, the group will host its first showcase in Japan and meet up with fans through an event titled “aespa Japan Premium Showcase 2022 ~SYNK~” in August.

The showcase will be held at Yokohama Pia Arena MM from Aug. 6 to 7.

aespa, which debuted in November 2020, is known for its metaverse concepts and commercially successful songs like “Black Mamba” (2020), “Next Level” and its first EP “Savage” (2021).

“As the girl group has succeeded in gaining both popularity and spotlight for its successive ‘mega-hits,’ we anticipate that the showcase will become viral as it is the first time that aespa performs in Japan since its debut,” SM Entertainment said.

On Wednesday, SM Entertainment announced that the girl group has signed a partnership deal with Warner Records to cover aespa’s global music content distribution and marketing promotions.

aespa will undertake various promotional activities through SM and Warner until its second EP "Girls" drops in Korea and the United States on July 8.

Before the EP’s release aespa will drop an English-language single “Life’s Too Short” on June 24. The group already performed the song at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April.

Last month, aespa was the first K-pop girl group to be chosen as one of Time magazine’s Next Generation Leaders.

The group has four members: Giselle, Karina, Ningning and Winter.
