Two of BTS's songs in its upcoming anthology album "Proof" are banned from being broadcast on KBS, according to the local channel.
On Wednesday, KBS uploaded on its website its weekly post rating the appropriateness of songs. The rating results count toward whether each song is qualified to be broadcast on the channel, including in performances on the weekly music ranking show "Music Bank" (1998-).
BTS previously revealed that it will release three new songs for "Proof": "For Youth," "Yet to Come" and "Run BTS," as well as a remastered version of a song that was released only on YouTube and Spotify in 2013, "Born Singer."
KBS deemed "Run BTS" and "Born Singer" as "unqualified for broadcasting," citing the reason for both being due to "lyrics that use swear words, slang or vulgar expressions."
Evaluation for "For Youth" was "postponed" due to the "lyrics from the first 30 seconds being unavailable."
"Yet to Come" was evaluated as "appropriate."
BTS will perform for other Korean television music shows such as Mnet's "M Countdown" on June 16, “Music Bank” on June 17 and SBS’s “Inkigayo” on June 19. The appearances will mark the boy band’s first appearance on domestic music shows since March 2020.
"Proof" drops Friday.
