TV series 'Alchemy of Souls' gains popularity in Korea and abroad

TvN drama series “Alchemy of Souls” by local production company Studio Dragon is gaining popularity both locally and overseas.
 
The series, which began airing on tvN and streaming on Netflix from June 18, topped the daily Top 10 TV shows on Tuesday and climbed to No. 5 on the Global Top 10 chart in the non-English TV category from June 27 to July 3.
 
Set in a fictional historic era and country, the fantasy romance series centers around protagonists who become influenced by evil magic which changes people’s souls and disrupts society.
 
On film database website IMDb, the series received positive reviews such as “I’ve just finished two episodes and I didn’t want to stop. Exiting plot plus nice graphics.” Another review reads, “This show is hands down one of the best I’ve seen so far. I applaud the director and the actors for their amazing talent.”
 
“In ‘Alchemy of Souls,’ there is a gripping universe which can hook not only Koreans but viewers across the globe,” producer Lee Young-ok of Studio Dragon said. “There are more in-depth and various narratives and interesting relationships to come for the series.”
