Actor Koo Hye-sun appointed ambassador of Global Art Fair Singapore

Actor Koo Hye-sun has been appointed the ambassador of this year's Global Art Fair Singapore, according to the fair's host Sejong Culture and Art Promotion Association on Tuesday.

At least seven of Koo's works will be showcased at the fair's exhibit.

Under the theme of "Art is Life," this year's fair will present some 2,000 works from 15 countries at the Marina Bay Sands Expo Convention Center Hall C in Singapore from Nov. 3 to Nov. 6.

Works by world-class artists such as Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Joan Miro, Kusama Yayoi, Andy Warhol, David Hockney, Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, Nam June Paik, and Ufan Lee, will be highlighted at the center of the art market.

In addition to the exhibitions, special programs such as auction shows, performances and conferences will take place.

Koo is an actor-turned-artist whose works have been recognized around the world. She has held solo exhibitions such as “Voyage ‘Again and Again’” at the Jinsan Gallery in 2020 and "Koo Hye Sun's New Age under Seo Taiji's Lyrics" (translated) at the Hangaram Museum in Seoul Arts Center, southern Seoul, last year.

She debuted in 2002 through a commercial and then established a career as an actor by appearing in a variety of TV dramas including hit KBS series “Boys over Flowers" (2009). She has also tried her hand at movie directing. Her films include “Daughter” (2014), “Mystery Pink” (2018) and “Deep Sleep” (2018).
