Stalker case involving Kim Tae-hee, Rain sent to prosecutors

A case regarding a 47-year-old woman who allegedly stalked the celebrity couple Kim Tae-hee and Rain has been sent to the prosecutors' office, the Yongsan Police Station said Friday.

According to the police, since March last year, the woman has repeatedly visited the couple’s house in Itaewon-dong, Yongsan District, and rang their doorbell.

The woman has been reported 17 times to the police.

From March to October last year, which was before the act regarding punishments against stalking crimes was implemented, the woman had already been charged with minor penalties three times, including a small fee less than 100,000 won ($70).

In February, she was caught in the act, at the couple's house, by the police.

“Although there was only one report of [the woman] stalking since the act was implemented [in October 2021], we requested that the case be sent to the prosecutors' office due to similar motives and methods of the [stalking] crime,” an official for the prosecutors' office told local press.

Actor Kim and singer Rain, whose given name is Jung Ji-hoon, married in 2017.
