NC Cultural Foundation is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its establishment. The obligations for this non-profit organization stem from NC’s determination to organize sustainable development and social responsibility for the public. Under the institute’s values, “Our society’s qualitative leap forward”, NC Cultural Foundations has made countless social contributions throughout the past 10 years.

“Projectory” is a creative space situated in Daehak-ro, central Seoul for teenagers to freely express their ideas and seek innovative breakthroughs to modern concerns. The room was completed in 2020, reflecting NC Cultural Foundation’s initiatives to foster creative and critical thinking skills for generations who regularly face unexpected difficulties. Projectory is a truly unregulated space without fixed programs or instructive advisors so that young people can immerse themselves in the projects they are conducting. NC Cultural Foundation hopes that this distinctive realm empowers visitors to explore endless possibilities, and realize their capabilities.

NC Cultural Foundation is currently planning the Next Creativity Conference 2022 (NCC2022) to commemorate its 10th anniversary. The conference will address the topics “Future Generations” and “Creativity”. It will take place at the NC Cultural Foundation Building for two days from Oct. 20 to 21.

This year’s conference will highlight “Creativity” as a term distant from its conventional definition. In contrast to “eminent creativity” which refers to a few selected creative mindsets, NCC2022 wishes to focus on “everyday creativity.” The latter is a more common type of creativity visible among ordinary people in their daily routines.

A keynote talk on the first day of the conference will be hosted by renowned Silicon Valley educator Esther Wojcicki, whose daughter is YouTube CEO, Susan Wojcicki. She will give a talk on how and what teenagers should prepare for the future. Her speech will be followed by one from Paul Kim, the chief technology officer and associate dean at Stanford Graduate School of Education. Kim will conduct a lecture on the ultimate and fundamental passion that fuels creativity and innovation.

Afternoon sessions will feature business progress reports on Projectory and a presentation will be made by teenagers who have participated as members of Projectory. Shin Jongho, professor at the Department of Education at Seoul National University will host a panel discussion on building better creative environments and the way forward along with Professor Kim, and other noted scholars.

The second day of the conference will take the form of a workshop dedicated to officials and business groups who will navigate through topics such as future generations and creativity. Group discussions will be led by neuroscientist Chang Dong-Seon, founder of Curious Brain Lab. The significance of creative surroundings as well as the cultural assets of Projectory will be shared with participants via the workshops.

NC Cultural Foundation hopes to navigate the public through creativity by delivering experience and the foundation’s accumulated knowledge on creative experiences.
