Classical music to meet history at Deoksu Palace on Nov. 29

Held under the title "Seokjojeon Music Concert," organized by the Cultural Heritage Administration and Kumho Cultural Foundation, the concert first started in 2015 based on the historical record that pianist Kim Yeong-hwan (1893–1978) played the piano for Emperor Gojong (1852–1919) at the building,
The concert will feature pieces by Johannes Brahms and have the theme of "A love that lasts until the end of this world."
Brahms's String Quintet No. 1 in F Major' "Spring," Op. 88 and String Quintet No. 2 in G Major, Op. 111 will be played by the members of the Kumho Soloists: violinist Baek Ju-young, Lee Je-hye, violist Kim Sang-jin, Lee Han-na and cellist Kim Min-ji.
Admission is free, and seats can be reserved starting Nov. 22 at 10 a.m. on Deoksu Palace’s official site.
Seats are only open for the first 80 people. Only those over 65, handicapped or foreigners can get tickets on the spot. For more information, call (02) 751-0740.
Entrance to the palace on the day of the concert is free as the event falls on Culture Day, which is every last Wednesday of the month.
