The KT Wiz came from behind to beat the Kiwoom Heroes 9-6 in a crucial Game 4 of the first round of the 2022 KBO playoffs, tying the series at two games each and forcing a final fifth game to be played on Saturday.

An offensive onslaught led the Wiz to victory at home on Thursday. Kang Baek-ho made the most noise with a solo homer in the third inning, but by the end of the game every single starter had either had a hit or crossed the plate.

The Heroes weren't quiet either. Kim Whee-jip came close to upsetting the Wiz's lead with two-run blast in the seventh inning, but the home side rallied to add three of their own at the bottom of the inning to move well out of reach.

With the win, the series is now tied at two games apiece.

The Heroes won the opening game 8-4, with the Wiz then tying things up with a 2-0 game on Monday. The Heroes pulled ahead again on Wednesday, winning 9-2, before the series was again tied up on Thursday.

The all-important Game 5 will be played on Saturday at Gocheok Sky Dome in western Seoul.

The winner of the first round of the playoffs will advance to face the LG Twins in the second round next week.
