BTS member Jin, whose legal name is Kim Seok-jin, is the new face of local instant noodle brand Jin Ramen.
 
A commercial starring Jin will air on television from Friday, according to noodle's manufacturing company Ottogi on Wednesday.
 
It said that it selected Jin to be its model because, similar to how Jin Ramen is sincere about taste, Jin is sincere about music. Its slogan is "Finally our sincerity came through!"  
 
Jin previously said he wanted to become a model for Jin Ramen in a 2016 video posted on BTS's official YouTube channel.
 
In the YouTube video, Jin is eating Jin Ramen and says to his fellow BTS members, "It is my dream that one day, I get to become the model for this ramen."  
 
Ottogi said that going forward, it hopes to "create synergy" with Jin. 
 
"With Jin who has established a significant presence in the world as a global artist and a member of BTS, we want to effectively relay our brand's value ahead of our 35th anniversary next year," said Ottogi. "We also hope that having Jin as our new model adds momentum to our efforts in both domestic and oversea markets." 
 
Jin Ramen is one of the oldest brands of instant soup noodles in Korea. It was first released in 1988.
