SK Square has named Park Sung-ha, CEO of SK Inc. C&C, as new CEO. The decision is pending approval by shareholders at an annual general meeting next year.
The company explained that Park’s experience of leading mergers and acquisitions during his stints at SK Telecom makes him ideal for the top post at the investment company.
Park was among decision makers when SK Telecom acquired Shinsegi Telecom in 2000, according to a statement released by SK Square.
He took the helm at SK Inc. C&C in 2020. SK Inc. C&C is a business unit under SK Inc. providing IT services, like cloud-based storage via its data centers.
Born in 1965, Park graduated from Yonsei University with a major in German and earned an MBA at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Filling in Park’s role at C&C as CEO is Yoon Poong-young, who presently serves as chief investment officer at SK Square. Before joining SK Square, he managed corporate structure and strategies at SK Telecom. He also led the planning division at C&C between 2016 and 2017, laying the groundwork for new service arrangements centered around facilitating corporate client digital transformation.
C&C established a new division tasked with dealing with service disruptions and quality control, following an outage at one of its data centers in Pangyo that led into crash of Kakao Talk and other critical services.
SK Biopharmaceuticals named Lee Dong-hoon, executive vice president who heads Bio Investment Center of SK Inc., as the new CEO and President.
Lee will double as CEO of SK Biopharm’s SK Life Science, a U.S. subsidiary.
At SK Inc., Lee spearheaded major bio-related deals, such as establishing a U.S. joint venture called ProteoVant and acquiring France-based Yposkesi, a contract manufacturer for cell and gene therapies.
SK Inc. promoted Executive Vice President Lee Sung-hyung, who holds the title of Chief Financial Officer, to president. With the promotion, Lee will be entitled to take on a wider range of roles, including supporting the CEO’s decision-making.
SK Telecom CEO and President Ryu Young-sang will take on the CEO post at SK Broadband, an internet provider 74 percent owned by SK Telecom, to seek new business opportunities between SK Telecom and Broadband.
SK hynix assembled a new team directly reporting to CEO on the state of global operations and risks facing offshore locations, as geopolitical issues like U.S.-China row impact its businesses.
