Hanteo Global, Circle Chart to hold annual music awards this month

The 30th Anniversary Hanteo Music Awards [HANTEO GLOBAL]

The 30th Anniversary Hanteo Music Awards [HANTEO GLOBAL]

Two of Korea's largest music charts, Hanteo Global and Circle Chart, will hold their annual music awards this month to celebrate the best music and artists of 2022.

Hanteo Global will hold the 30th Anniversary Hanteo Music Awards on Feb. 10 and 11 at Jamsil Arena, also known as the Jamsil Indoor Stadium, in southern Seoul.

The annual event will take place offline for the first time this year, having started in 2021 amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The 30th Anniversary title is a celebration of the foundation of Hanteo Chart, Korea's largest album sales tracker in 1993.

It will be aired on channel SBS M in Korea and Mnet Japan and Mnet Smart+ in Japan. It will also be livestreamed through Idol+ TV, a streaming service run by LG U+.

Circle Chart, previously known as Gaon Chart, will hold its Circle Chart Music Awards ceremony on Feb. 18 at KSPO Dome in southern Seoul.

Gaon Chart was founded by the Korea Music Content Association in 2010 with the aim to become Korea's Billboard music chart. It changed its name to Circle Chart last July.
