Singer-songwriter and rapper Yong Jun-hyung will release his new single on March 2, his label Black Made announced Tuesday.

The title of the rapper’s new single has not been announced yet.

This single will be Yong’s first music since his second EP, “Loner,” which was released in November 2022.

The artist also announced his 2023 solo concert “Loner’s Room” will be on March 18 and 19 in Blue Square in Yongsan District, central Seoul.

Yong was embroiled in controversy after it was revealed that he was one of the celebrities in the same KakaoTalk chatroom with singer Jung Joon-young and ex-Big Bang member Seungri, who were at the center of the Burning Sun scandal in 2019.

In March that year, Yong announced that he decided to leave the boy band Highlight after admitting to accusations that he had watched illicit videos taken by Jung. Yong enlisted to serve his mandatory military service in April 2019.

Yong debuted in 2009 as part of the six-member group Beast under Cube Entertainment. The group changed its name to Highlight after signing with the label Around US Entertainment in 2017.

Black Made is an independent music label established by Yong himself in October 2022 after his contract with Around Us Entertainment, home to other Highlight members, expired the same month.
