Kumho Tire signed a sponsorship deal for the Kumho Touring Car Racing World Tour with its organizer WSC Group in Lugano, Switzerland, on Thursday.

The domestic tire company will supply tires for all automobiles entering the 2023 Touring Car Racing (TCR) World Tour, an international touring car championship by WSC Group.

The tour will be held in eight regions, starting off in Portugal then moving on to Belgium, Italy, Hungary, Uruguay, Argentina, Australia and Macao.

TCR cars in the tour will be equipped with Kumho’s racing tires ECSTA S700 and ECSTA W701, which demonstrate stable handling and high running performance in high-speed driving and rainy conditions.

Kumho Tire has added two regional motor sports competitions in the Middle East and South America, and three national competitions in Australia, Brazil and Finland to its exclusive supply of tires.

“Kumho Tire is spreading its influence as a partner for TCR World Tour grounded on its motor sports technology that it has accumulated for years,” said Yoon Jang-hyuk, managing director of global marketing at Kumho Tire in a statement Monday. “We will continue to strengthen our high-powered brand value.”

Kumho Tire has been supplying its tires in TCR Europe, TCR Eastern Europe, TCR Denmark and TCR Spain since 2022.
