The mandate on wearing masks on public transportation including buses and subways in Korea will be lifted on March 20, the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters announced Wednesday.

Wearing masks in pharmacies inside subway stations will also be only recommended, not mandatory, beginning March 20.

The announcement comes as Korea’s daily confirmed Covid-19 cases remain in the 11,000s as of Wednesday.
