Jennie from girl group Blackpink will attend the upcoming Cannes Film Festival in May with the cast of the upcoming HBO series “The Idol.”

“Jennie will be attending the official screening schedules at the 76th Cannes Film Festival on May 22,” YG Entertainment said Thursday.

“The Idol,” an HBO original series set to release in June, is a six-episode drama about a pop star in the entertainment industry, featuring Abél Tesfaye — also known as The Weeknd — and Lily-Rose Depp, daughter of the American actor Johnny Depp.

"The Idol" is Jennie’s debut work in her acting career.

The series was selected for this year’s Cannes in the competition section earlier last month, where two episodes from the series are set to premiere at the festival.

Jennie recently attended Met Gala for the first time in a reinterpreted vintage Karl Lagerfeld dress. The Met Gala is a renowned charity fundraising gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
