Kakao Pay hit with a service outage Monday afternoon

Kakao Pay was hit by a service outage with some users unable to send or receive cash transactions Monday afternoon.
 
The outage began around 12:10 p.m. and lasted until 2:15 p.m., according to Kakao Pay.
 
Kakao Pay said its transaction service was halted due to an emergency inspection of its service.
 
Kakao affiliates were occasionally hit by service outages in recent months.
 
KakaoTalk users were unable to send or receive messages in both PC and mobile versions for around 20 minutes on May 8, and for around 10 minutes on Jan. 17.
 
Kakao Pay Securities was down twice on Jan. 12, once in the afternoon and the other overnight, which had some users unable to trade foreign stocks.
