Girl group Le Sserafim received a gold certification for its latest album "Unforgiven" from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).
The gold certification was given after the band's first full-length album sold over 100,000 copies as of May, according to Le Sserafim's agency Source Music.
This is the first time for the band to receive a gold certification from the RIAJ. Le Sserafim previously received a double platinum certification for its Japanese single "Fearless" last March.
"Unforgiven" sat on Japanese music chart Oricon's Weekly Album Ranking, Weekly Digital Album Ranking and Weekly Total Album Ranking in the week of May 15, two weeks after it was released on May 1.
The album has given the band its biggest success yet. "Unforgiven" landed at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart in the upcoming update for the week of May 20, marking the first time for the band to make it on the Top 10 list of the U.S. music chart.
“Unforgiven,” released a day before the girl group’s one-year debut anniversary, is a full-length album featuring 13 tracks. The first three tracks on the album, “The World Is My Oyster (2023 Ver.),” “Fearless (2023 Ver.)” and “Blue Flame (2023 Ver.)” are re-recorded tracks from the girl group’s first EP, “Fearless” (2022). The lead track “Unforgiven” features the U.S. record producer Nile Rodgers.
