Le Sserafim's 'Easy' breaks Japanese record with over 100,000 copies sold

Girl group Le Sserafim sold 107,000 copies of its latest EP, “Easy,” within a week of release in Japan, the best-ever figure for the girl group and the highest number of first-week album sales from a foreign act in Japan this year.

“Easy,” released on Feb. 19, topped Japan's Oricon weekly cumulative album ranking chart for the week of Feb. 19 to 25 with its record sales figure.

Le Sserafim's previous record was set with “Unforgiven” (2023), which sold 89,000 copies within a week of release.

“The achievement is ever more meaningful in that 'Easy' is a Korean album, not a Japanese version made for the local market,” Le Sserafim's agency, Source Music, said Tuesday.

Le Sserafim debuted in 2022 with the album “Fearless” under Source Music, a subsidiary of HYBE. The group includes five members: Sakura, Kim Chae-won, Huh Yun-jin, Kazuha and Hong Eun-chae. The group has since released songs such as “Fearless” (2022) and “Antifragile” (2022).

The quintet is set to perform at California's Coachella music festival on April 13 and April 20.
