'The Roundup: No Way Out' draws 10 million viewers in 32 days
Korean action film “The Roundup: No Way Out” attracted 10 million cumulative moviegoers as of Saturday, becoming the 21st domestically produced film ever to hit the number.
“The Roundup: No Way Out” peaked at 10 million ticket sales on Saturday morning, according to distributor Plus M Entertainment.
The action film starring Don Lee as “monster cop” Ma Suk-do, who chases down a drug ring, made this feat within 32 days of release. Lee Joon-hyuk and Japanese actor Munetaka Aoki each played the two antagonists in the film.
This marks the fifth time Don Lee has starred in a film that has sold over 10 million tickets.
“We thank everybody who has loved our film,” the main cast and producers of the movie said in a press release Saturday. “To be able to reach this number again after doing it with ‘The Roundup’ was a stroke of luck, and that luck came from the audience.”
The cast and producers of “The Roundup: No Way Out” promised to come back with “even better content” with the fourth installment in the franchise next year.
