Girl group Le Sserafim and Japanese singer-songwriter imase will release a new single, according to Source Music on Tuesday.
The single, titled "Jewelry (Prod. imase)," will be made available on music streaming platforms on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The song is a pre-release track from Le Sserafim's upcoming Japanese EP.
imase is best known for "Night Dancer," which went viral on TikTok and entered Korea's Melon Chart Top 100, a first for a J-pop track.
The singer-songwriter produced and wrote the music and lyrics of "Jewelry," a "funky and groovy city pop number with retro vibes," according to the agency.
"I was so surprised and honored to be offered a collaboration with Le Sserafim because I've been enjoying the group's music," imase said. "I wanted to portray Le Sserafim's gem-like beauty and strength in the lyrics."
He added, "This is my first time writing a song for another artist, and it was a refreshing experience for me to hear someone else sing the melodies I wrote."
Le Sserafim has been one of the most successful K-pop girl groups since it debuted in May 2022. It has seen a streak of hits like "Fearless" (2022), "Antifragile" (2022) and "Unforgiven (feat. Nile Rodgers)."
The girl group's second Japanese EP "Unforgiven" will drop on Aug. 23.
