Air New Zealand, which has been operating three flights per week from Incheon to Auckland, is offering a 24-hour flash sale in which travelers can upgrade an Economy seat to Economy Skycouch for 1,000 won ($0.80) per way. The deal is being offered for 24 hours only on July 31.

Air New Zealand’s Skycouch is an innovative option for long-haul economy travelers as it can be used like a couch as soon as the seat belt sign turns off after takeoff. Skycouch allows one traveler to use the entire row — three conventional Economy seats — on their own, allowing them to spread out, lie down or snooze.

The footrests in Skycouch can also be lifted all the way up to transform the three seats into a flatbed. When in this formation, the area measures 61 inches long from armrest to armrest and 29 inches wide from the seatback to the row of seats in front, according to Air New Zealand.

This service is available for Boeing 787-9s, which operate on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays from Incheon International Airport to Auckland International Airport, and 777s for North America-based travelers. Air New Zealand resumed the operation of its flights between Incheon and Auckland for the first time in 22 years in November 2019.

Ticket purchases can be made via Air New Zealand’s official website www.airnewzealand.co.kr/economy-skycouch
