Paris Baguette, a bakery brand owned by SPC Group, has been ranked 37th in the “Top Global Franchise” of 2023 list curated by U.S. business magazine Entrepreneur, the company said Thursday.

The list included the top 200 global franchises operating both within the United States and internationally. Paris Baguette was the highest-ranking bakery cafe franchise, as well as the only Korean brand on the list.

The evaluation process for inclusion in the rankings considered factors including the franchise size and growth rate; brand strength; and the financial stability of companies with five or more chain stores outside the United States.

Additionally, the brand achieved 17th position in the “Top Brands for Multi-Unit Owners” ranking as the sole Korean brand in this category.

During the first half of 2023, Paris Baguette signed 66 franchise agreements and opened some 20 stores across the United States. It gained visibility through a feature on Fox News in June and it served as a sponsor for the U.S. LPGA tournament.

Paris Baguette said it plans to expand further this year, targeting locations in North Carolina, Washington, Hawaii and Tennessee. The brand aims to sign over 160 franchise agreements and establish around 60 new stores.

“We are satisfied with Paris Baguette's positive reception in the highly competitive U.S. market, renowned as a battleground for global franchise brands,” an SPC official said. “We aim to operate 1,000 stores across North America by 2030.”
