Girl group IVE on Thursday was added to the list of 18 K-pop acts to perform at the World Scout Jamboree concert on Friday, all of whom will have to do so without rehearsals due to the approaching typhoon.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced IVE’s addition to the “K-pop Super Live” concert roster on Thursday, just a day before the concert is set to take place on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in Sangam, western Seoul.

The girl group was set to perform at the concert, which initially was to take place on Aug. 6 at the Saemangeum Jamboree site, but had to cancel when the concert was moved to a different place and time due to safety concerns.

IVE changed its schedule to make it to the concert, according to the culture ministry.

"We welcome IVE’s decision to voluntarily change its schedule to keep its promise and take part in the ‘K-pop Super Live’ concert,” Park Bo-gyoon from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said in a press release.

“With top star IVE in the lineup, the Saemangeum Scout Jamboree will end with K-pop's mesmerizing charm.”

IVE will join K-pop bands NewJeans, NCT Dream, ITZY, Mamamoo, The Boyz, Shownu & Hyungwon, fromis_9, ZeroBaseOne, P1Harmony, KARD, The New Six, ATBO, xikers, Holybang and Libelante, as well as singers Kang Daniel, Kwon Eun-bi and Jo Yuri, at the concert.

The event will be hosted by actor Gong Myoung alongside singers Yuna of ITZY and Hyein of NewJeans.

The news of a star-studded lineup resulted in fans asking to buy scout uniforms to gain entry to the concert on online second-hand market platforms and social media services. The concert is only open to Jamboree participants and tickets will not be sold to other groups, according to the culture ministry.

With Typhoon Khanun roaring up towards the capital region tonight, the artists will not get to rehearse their performances before the actual concert, a culture ministry official told the Korea JoongAng Daily.

“There will only be a tech rehearsal,” the official added. “The artists will have to perform straight away.”

The typhoon is expected to bring the entire country under its influence on Thursday and Friday, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA). The culture ministry said that the rain is expected to stop on Friday afternoon and is not considering a cancellation.

"We are being updated in real-time by a KMA official who is dispatched at the stadium site," Kang Jung-won, spokesperson for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said in a briefing to the local press on Thursday afternoon.

"We are getting regular weather updates and currently believe the conditions will allow for the concert and the closing ceremony to take place, we are not considering the option of cancellation."

The main roads near the stadium will be restricted from Friday 2 p.m. until the concert ends and the scout members are transported back to their accommodations. The expected time is around 11 p.m. but is subject to change.

Roads leading up to the World Cup Stadium interchange from the Guryong interchange will be sealed off on Friday afternoon. Some 300 police officers will be dispatched to the site for traffic control and parking space for the 1,000 buses that will be mobilized to transport the scouts to the stadium.

Four emergency medical tents will be set up on the site and the scouts will be provided with a meal between the closing ceremony and the concert. They will be transported back to their accommodations after the concert ends.
