Tving original series “Bargain” has been invited to the 48th Toronto International Film Festival’s (TIFF) Primetime program, the streaming service announced Tuesday.
TIFF’s Primetime program invites television shows that blur the line between television and film while displaying excellence in production.
“Bargain” was previously invited to the Cannes International Series Festival in April, winning the Best Screenplay award at the event. "Bargain" was the only series from Korea invited to the TIFF Primetime program this year.
“Bargain” is an expanded series based on director Lee Chung-hyun’s 14-minute short film of the same name that was made in 2015. It tells the story of a human organ trafficking ring and its targets who have to escape a sudden earthquake.
The series is directed by Jeon Woo-sung based on a script written by Jeon, Choi Byung-yoon and Kawak Jae-min. Jin Sun-kyu, Jun Jong-seo and Chang Ryul star alongside the supporting cast.
