Kakao to start webtoon series based on boy band NCT

Kakao Entertainment will start a new webtoon series based on SM Entertainment's boy band NCT titled, "NCT: Dream Concert."

"NCT: Dream Concert" comes as a part of the promotion project for the band's upcoming fourth full-length album, "Golden Age," set to drop on Aug. 28.

Rather than featuring the band members as characters of the webtoon, the series will take its theme from NCT's fictional background, where people communicate through dreams and become one with music.

The series will feature objects and scenes from NCT's past content such as documentaries and music videos to provide fans a fun factor, according to SM Entertainment.

The series will be released on Kakao's webtoon platforms Kakao Webtoon, Kakao Page, Tapas and Piccoma.

NCT will hold a concert titled "NCT Nation: To The World" on Aug. 26 in Incheon.
