However, due to the fierce competition among hopeful visitors to get their hands on the limited tickets, considering previous years' experiences, the Cultural Heritage Administration said it will sell the tickets through a lottery system, which will open at 2 p.m. on Thursday through ticketlink.com.

Tickets to the special event are priced at 26,000 won ($19). Winners of the lottery will be announced on Sept. 20.

The CHA said the tickets are sold through a lottery to "provide a fair opportunity" for people wishing to participate in the event."

Seokjojeon is a Western-style architecture built in 1910 at the Deoksu Palace in Jung District, central Seoul. Following restoration efforts from 2009 to 2014, the building is now known as the Daehan Empire History Museum, showcasing the original form of the building, with King Gojong's living quarters, dining rooms and reception rooms.
