Korean taekwondo practitoner Kim Yu-jin lost 2-0 to Luo Zongshi of China in the semifinal of the women’s -57kg on Tuesday, failing to reach the final and settling for a bronze medal.

In the Asian Games taekwondo, there is no third-place match and the two losers from the semifinals both take a bronze.

Kim took on Luo at Lin'an Sports Culture Convention & Exhibition Center Gymnasium in Hangzhou, China and neither of them earned any points during the first round.

Luo still won the round as she attempted more attacks. She then dominated in the second round and won 6-0 for a final score of 2-0 against Kim.

Kim’s bronze medal was Korea’s first bronze in taekwondo and fourth medal as of press time Tuesday.

Korea has secured three golds, one silver and one bronze in taekwondo so far in this year’s Asiad.

Park Hye-jin is guaranteed to add another medal, as she was due to compete in the women’s -53kg final against Lin Wei Chun of Chinese Taipei later in the afternoon.
