Korean cyclists take bronze in men's team pursuit
Korean cyclists took bronze in the men’s team pursuit contest at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China on Wednesday
The four-man team of Jang Hun, Kim Hyeon-seok, Min Kyeong-ho and Shin Dong-in edged out Hong Kong by seven seconds to secure a podium finish.
The Korean team finished with a time of three minutes and 58 seconds, averaging a speed of 60.35 kilometers per hour in the bronze medal round. Hong Kong ended the race with a time of four minutes and five seconds with an average speed of 58.65 kilometers per hour.
Japan took gold and China, silver.
Team pursuit is a cycling event that takes place on an indoor track. Cyclists ride in a team, and the winner is decided when the third rider crosses the finish line.
The Korean team’s third-place finish marks Korea’s second cycling medal at this year’s Asiad, following a silver medal by the Korean women’s cycling track team in the sprint final on Tuesday.
