Boy band Seventeen has sold over 10 million copies of its albums so far this year, its agency Pledis Entertainment said Thursday.
Seventeen sold 11,043,265 physical copies of its albums this year, from Jan. 1 to Sept. 30, according to the agency, a rare feat in the days of digital streaming where CDs are mostly used to represent the loyalty of fans.
The achievement mostly comes from the band's 10th EP "FML," which has sold 6.27 million copies since its release on April 24. This is the highest sales for any K-pop album, according to Pledis Entertainment.
It was followed by sales made by its fourth full-length album "Face the Sun" (2022), which sold 950,000 copies, and the band subunit BSS's EP "Second Wind," released last February.
Seventeen's aggregate album sales surpassed 10 million for the first time in November 2021, six years and six months after its debut in 2015.
Seventeen is set to release its 11th EP "Seventeenth Heaven" on Oct. 23. A pop-up store will be open in celebration until Oct. 9 in Seongsu-dong of Seongdong District, eastern Seoul.
