R&B group g.o.d's Kim Tae-woo apologized Monday for the controversy over his allegedly using a private ambulance to get to an event.
Kim was recently summarily indicted on charges of violating the Emergency Medical Services Act by taking a private ambulance from Goyang, Gyeonggi, to an event in Seongdong District, eastern Seoul, in March 2018.
The private ambulance driver who gave Kim a ride was sentenced to prison for driving without a license.
"I am sorry for causing concern and disappointment to many people due to this incident," Kim said through his agency IOK Company on Monday. "It was entirely my fault without any excuses, and I am deeply regretting my actions. I once again express my apologies."
Kim debuted in 1999 with g.o.d, one of the biggest boy bands in the early 2000s.
g.o.d debuted with "Chapter 1" and was beloved by domestic fans with hits such as "To Mother," "Love and Remember" and "Sorrow" in 1999, "One Candle" and "Lies" in 2000 and "Road" in 2001. The band's five members — Park Joon-hyung, Yoon Kye-sang, Danny Ahn, Son Ho-young and Kim Tae-woo — are also active as entertainers, solo singers and actors.
