Another drug scandal involving a top film star has broken out, with a Korean media outlet reporting Thursday that the police are investigating an actor — identified as A — for drug use.
The drug case, which the Incheon Police Agency is investigating, involves eight people, including the actor, rookie actors and employees of a nightclub. They allegedly used drugs multiple times.
The accused actor debuted in 2001 with an MBC sitcom and has played leading roles in many acclaimed films and shows. He is set to appear in two upcoming films and TV shows, including "Project Silence," "The Land of Happiness," "No Way Out" and the second season of "Dr. Brain."
The actor's agency has not responded to the Korea JoongAng Daily's comment requests as of Friday afternoon.
An employee of the agency reportedly told a media outlet that the agency is "in the process of finding out" the details relating to the case.
Meanwhile, the prosecution indicted actor Yoo Ah-in without detention on charges of illegal drug use on Thursday. Yoo is facing charges of illegal use of seven different drugs: propofol, marijuana, ketamine, cocaine, midazolam and alprazolam.
