The majority Democratic Party (DP) is embarrassed that the governing People Power Party (PPP) has borrowed its past campaign promises — such as raising the enrollment quota for medical schools, merging Gimpo city into Seoul, and cutting the pay for lawmakers — after being elated by its landslide victory in the recent by-election in Seoul.
