GOT7's Youngjae released his first solo full-length album ″Do it″ on Monday [SUBLIME]

“I want to embrace every moment of it,” Youngjae of GOT7 said about his first full-length album as a solo artist, during a Q&A interview with the press on Tuesday, a day after his album release the previous day.

“Music changes every second with new ideas. I just want to be a singer who can keep on making music [..] I wish to be a singer who goes along with the era,” he said.

Youngjae’s first full-length solo album “Do It” was released Monday, consisting of 10 tracks. “Do It” is also the title of the lead track of the album. The song, with its refreshing vibe, tells the story of a man who has fallen in love.

“I wanted to give hope through my album,” he said. “The album sends a message to those who are hesistant about following their dreams or goals and telling them to just ‘do it’ like my album suggests.”

“I tried out a lot of different concepts and songs since my debut, and realized that this refreshing concept suits me the best.”

The K-pop artist participated in making all 10 tracks on his album.

“I participated in almost every part of the album, which makes the album quite meaningful to me,” he said.

“There are some tracks that saw the light after four years, since 2019,” the singer added.

The music video for his title track was released on the same day as his album. Youngjae, starring in the video, continuously tries to approach a girl he fell in love with followed by numerous failures. However, he wakes up the next day fresh and new and tries again.

“I want to tell the viewers that the song is not just a love song, but a message encouraging people to keep on trying,” Youngjae said. “After numerous failures and mistakes, there will be a happy ending.”

He hopes that the album acts as a “starting point for the listeners to hold on to positive thoughts,” by giving positive vibes during difficult times.

Youngjae debuted in 2014 as a member of the boy band GOT7. He released his first solo EP “Colors from Arts” in 2021 and has been continuing his solo activities since. The singer also released a digital single “Walk With Me” (2021), EP “Sugar” (2022) and digital single “Errr Day” in March.
