Gov’t partially restores crashed civil service system

The government's civil service portal was partially restored on Saturday morning after crashing the previous day.
 
According to the Ministry of Interior and Safety on Saturday, system checkups during the restoration proved positive.

However, the restored system currently offers limited services, including access to resident ID certificates.
 
Since the system failure on Friday morning, widespread chaos ensued as citizens were denied access to crucial government documents.
 
These documents are vital for identity verification, including when applying for financial loans and obtaining a library card.
 
Prime Minister Han Duck-soo sincerely apologized for the inconvenience and confusion caused by suspending public services due to the administrative electronic system error.
 
“The latest incident clearly shows the inconvenience and confusion that happens when the digital system does not operate perfectly,” Han said during a government task force meeting on Saturday.
 
Han reassured the public that the government, spearheaded by the Ministry of Interior and Safety and with collaboration from the private sector, is committed to swiftly normalizing the system.
 
“We will do our best to normalize the system,” he added.
