Both companies announced Monday that they would be holding nationwide auditions starting on Jan. 13. YG Entertainment, which is home to girl groups like Blackpink and boy band Treasure, is kicking off its audition titled “2024 YG National Audition Tour” in Jeju Island on Jan. 13, followed by Gwangju on Jan. 20, Jeonju on Jan. 21, Busan on Jan. 27, Daegu on Jan. 28, Daejeon on Feb. 3, Wonju on Feb. 4 and ending in Seoul on Feb. 17 and 18.

The audition will be open to all teenagers residing in the country who were born sometime within 2006 to 2013, regardless of gender or nationality. Applicants can choose to participate in one of four categories: singing, rapping, dancing or visuals.

YG Entertainment was founded in 1996 by music producer and songwriter Yang Hyun-suk.
