Man in 70s found dead at a park's pond in Seoul

A swamp at Yeouido Saetgang Ecological ParK [YONHAP]

A man in his 70s was found dead in a pond of an ecological park in Seoul on Wednesday.

According to the police and fire department, a distress call was made at 1:36 p.m. that a body was floating in a pond at Yeouido Saetgang Ecological Park in Yeongdeungpo District, western Seoul.

The fire department retrieved the man from the water, only to find him in a state of cardiac arrest.

Although CPR was performed on the man while he was being taken to hospital, he did not survive.

The police said they are currently investigating the cause of death, not ruling out the possibility of murder.
