President Yoon Suk Yeol returned to Seoul on Friday after concluding his five-day state visit to the Netherlands.
Yoon, upon his arrival at Seoul Air Base in Seongnam, Gyeonggi, was greeted by People Power Party floor leader and interim party leader Yun Jae-ok, as Kim Gi-hyeon, the party's leader, announced his resignation via Facebook on Wednesday.
Yoon and Yun only exchanged a brief greeting at the airport.
Yoon headed to his office in Yongsan District, central Seoul, after leaving the airport. He is scheduled to meet with Kristalina Georgieva, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund.
