Actor Song Joong-ki to return to small screen in 'My Youth'

Actor Song Joong-ki will return to the small screen in the new drama “My Youth,” local media reported Thursday.
 
“My Youth” will be Song’s first work since the 2022 JTBC drama “Reborn Rich,” which recorded a 26.9 percent viewership rating nationwide when it aired.

Details about the plot and other cast members of “My Youth” have not yet been released. The title of the drama could also change in the production process, according to local reports.
 
This will also be Song’s first work since becoming a father to a baby boy last year.
 
Screenwriter Park Si-hyun, who wrote the script for the JTBC drama “Run On” (2021), will write the screenplay for “My Youth,” while Song’s agency High Zium Studio is involved in the pre-production process.
 
Song garnered attention last year for his role in the Cannes-invited film “Hopeless,” in which he appeared without taking any payment. The actor was recently nominated for Best Supporting Actor at last year’s Blue Dragon Film Awards, one of the three most prestigious film awards in Korea.
 
Song’s next projects include Netflix film “My Name is Loh Kiwan,” set to be released in the first half of the year, and “Bogota,” the release date of which is still in discussion.
 
Song married English actor Katy Louise Saunders in January last year and is known for participating in works such as “Descendants of the Sun” (2016), “Arthdal Chronicles” (2019-2023) and “Reborn Rich.”
