Park Hyatt Seoul

From March 11 to April 21: Park Hyatt Seoul's The Lounge will offer a special afternoon treat, the French Goûter, curated by Chef Sanghyup Jung and Chef Narae Kim from Park Hyatt Paris Vendôme, celebrated as the Gault & Millau French restaurant guide's Pastry Chef of the Year.  It will be available from March 11 to April 21.

The term “Goûter,” signifying afternoon tea time in France, refers to a snack time that can be comfortably experienced.

Narae Kim, Chef of Park Hyatt Paris Vendôme, with diverse international experiences in Seoul, Guam, Vietnam and France, clinched two gold medals at the World Global Pastry Chef Challenge. In 2024, she was named the best pastry chef by the prestigious Gault & Millau guide. Gault & Millau, established in 1972, is renowned alongside the Michelin Guide and annually recognizes outstanding professionals in the categories of cuisine, patisserie, sommelier and hall management. Kim's recognition marks the first time a foreign woman has been honored in the patisserie category and is also a first for any Korean.

French Goûter showcases the creativity and inspiration of its creators, Chef Sanghyup Jung of The Lounge at Park Hyatt Seoul and Chef Narae Kim of Park Hyatt Paris Vendôme. The special treat begins with a truffle croque-monsieur covered in truffle béchamel sauce and baked to perfection, followed by buttery Jambon Beurre and a savory lobster roll with two distinctive sauces on a fried hot dog.

The double cream pre-dessert features a delightful combination of seasonal ingredients, including candied kumquats, a granité infused with the essence of fennel and ice cream enriched with the deep flavor of milk, harmonizing with the fragrant notes of bee pollen.

For the main dessert, a hazelnut-topped Paris-Brest; a cookie blending pecans, dark chocolate, and milk chocolate for a moist and crispy texture; a marble cake with a perfect balance of vanilla and chocolate; a fresh seasonal fruit tart made on a pâte feuilletée base; and a brioche chocolate tart are availiable.

The Lounge not only features modern Korean dining using seasonal ingredients but also showcases various desserts, including afternoon tea sets. It earned the title of the Best Pastry Shop 2023 from La Liste, a global gastronomic guide organized by the French Tourist Board.

Priced at 68,000 won per person, reservations and inquiries can be made by contacting The Lounge or Park Hyatt Seoul's main line.
