Porsche Korea said Monday it will expand the scope of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaign "Porsche Do Dream" marking the 10th anniversary of its business in Korea.

The Korean arm of the German luxury carmaker will spend a total of 1.75 billion won ($1.3 million) this year in five areas of social contribution: education, sports, arts and culture, the environment, and society. It will support a total of 10 programs in the five fields.

In sports, for instance, the company will aid the discovery of young talent in soccer with a new program.

Some 280 million won will be used to support 75 students in Korea, including some from underprivileged backgrounds.

Porsche spent a total of 7.63 billion won in social support through Porsche Do Dream, which enters its eighth year in 2024.

In 2023, Holger Gerrmann, CEO of Porsche Korea, was appointed as an Honorary Citizen of Seoul for his contributions to society through the brand's campaigns.

"The growth of Porsche Korea in the past decade has been fueled by the love and interest of our Korean customers and fans," Gerrmann said.

"As we celebrate the special milestone of Porsche Korea's 10th anniversary this year, we will expand our social contribution programs even further across more areas, making more dreams reality and laying the groundwork for enhancing our commitment to Korean society for the coming decade."
