Hit webtoon 'Yumi's Cells' to to light up big screen

Naver Webtoon's cutest cells are coming to the big screen this spring.

"Yumi's Cells: The Movie," a film adaptation of one of Naver Webtoon's most famed love comedy series "Yumi's Cells" (2015-20) will hit local theaters on April 3, production company Studio N said Thursday.

The animated film will focus on the protagonist's brain cells, which each govern different emotions and characteristics, such as love, anxiety, hunger, fashion and more.

"Yumi's Cells" is one of the most popular webtoon series to date, with its 512 episodes garnering some 3.2 billion views during its five-year run.

A drama adaption of the work ran from 2021 to 2022 on TV channel tvN and streaming service Tving.
