Actor Song Joong-ki's transformation into a North Korean defector in "My Name is Loh Kiwan" has become the most watched non-English film on Netflix.
 
With a total of 5.1 million views this week, the film landed at No. 1 on Netflix’s most-viewed global top 10 list for the week of March 4 to 10, the platform said Wednesday.

It continued its two-week streak in the global top 10, which it had sat on since the film’s release on March 1.  
 
The romance drama film also sat on this week's top 10 most-viewed lists in 31 countries including in Portugal, Peru, Venezuela, Malaysia and Turkey.

“My Name is Loh Kiwan” is the story of Loh Kiwan, a North Korean defector who goes to Belgium to receive refugee status. With little money and no understanding of either French or English, Loh struggles to survive in the country. A romance blooms between him and Marie, a Belgian citizen to Korean immigrant parents who leads a troubled life. Song plays the titular role of Loh Kiwan and Choi Sung-eun plays Marie.
 
Kim Hee-jin directed and adapted the 2011 short novel “I Met Loh Kiwan” by Cho Hae-jin for the film. It is the director's first feature film.
