BC Card offering preloaded card, app payment for tourists

BC Card has launched a new card and payment service designed for foreign tourists visiting Korea in partnership with mobile passport service provider Lordsystem.
The card company’s latest Trip.PASS card enables customers to pay with money preloaded on Lordsystem’s Trip.PASS app, a mobile passport-based tourism and financial service platform. It is accepted at BC Card’s 3.4 million-odd merchants nationwide, and also can be used to pay for public transportation.
Cardholders are not required to pay additional fees to load money onto the app, and they receive a 1 percent cashback reward on spending. Foreign tourists visiting Korea can acquire the card Eastar Jet flights into the country, according to BC Card.
Moreover, a new QR code payment system was introduced on the Trip.PASS app, which is powered by BC Card’s payment service network. Users can pay for purchases at local convenience stores, coffee shops and more through the app.
