Voting for the 22nd National Assembly began at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, and celebrities are casting their votes and proudly posting about it on social media.

Many are careful, however, not to write or wear anything that could allude to any one political inclination.

This year, we are seeing especially measured posts. Some people are opting to post only black-and-white photos, and others, like NewJeans' Minji, are using fictional characters or animals to indicate they voted, instead of using a photo of themselves.

The Korea JoongAng Daily publishes live as local stars post their votes online.

NewJeans' Minji uploaded a story on the girl group's official Instagram account to show that she cast her vote on Wednesday. Instead of a picture of herself, she opted for a self-drawn bear holding a sign that reads "Voting completed." Having turned 19 years old this year, it was reportedly the K-pop star's first time voting. She is the only NewJeans member old enough to vote. [NEWS1/SCREEN CAPTURE]

Actor Lee Ji-hoon posted an Instagram story of a black-and-white selfie in front of a polling station, with a caption that read, "Gravely completed voting. Let's all vote for a Korea that is better to live in. Don't be late." [SCREEN CAPTURE]

Super Junior member Kim Hee-chul encourages his fans to vote in a post of a close-up picture of himself with the caption ″Let's vote″ on his Instagram story. He is featured wearing a black mask and a black tee. [SCREEN CAPTURE]

Kian84, webtoonist and TV personality, kept his voting post especially politically-neutral with a black-and-white photo of himself outside the voting station and a simple caption reading: ″Voting and going to work. Four years passed again. #vote.″ [SCREEN CAPTURE]

Yoon Jong-shin, songwriter and CEO of Mystic Entertainment, posted a picture of himself in front of a voting booth on Instagram. His caption reads "A precious day." [SCREEN CAPTURE]

Jang Sung-kyu, TV personality and former newscaster, posted a picture of himself in front of a voting booth with the caption "To whoever is elected, please make Gangdong District a more healthy and happy neighborhood~~" and with the Korean hashtags "22nd General Election" and "Finished voting." Kim Yu-na, songwriter and rock band Jaurim's vocalist, posted an Instagram story of her stopping by a community center to vote before going to work. The caption reads, "It's a full work day but I'm starting if off by voting!" [SCREEN CAPTURE]

Footballer Lee Dong-gook showed off his hand marked with the voting stamp in an Instagram post that read "Exercise your right to vote." He added the Korean hashtags "Back of my hand is fat" and "So bloated." [SCREEN CAPTURE]

Musical theater couple Kim So-hyun and Son Jun-ho visit the poll station with their 12-year-old son Son Ju-an in the morning. Kim posted about it on Instagram, writing, ″Teaching my son the importance of voting.″ [SCREEN CAPTURE]
