Some 7,000 runners took part in the 2024 Goyang JTBC Half Marathon, beginning at the Goyang Sports Complex in Goyang, Gyeonggi, on Sunday morning.
The marathon, offering 10-kilometer (6.2-mile) and 5-kilometer courses, was hosted by the Goyang City Sports Council, the JoongAng Ilbo and JTBC and sponsored by the Goyang Special City Hall.
While 64 percent of participants this year were in their 20s and 30s, the event drew many athletes in their 60s and 70s as well — including the oldest runner, who was 77 years old.
